Another use for the felt decor you find at the discount store
Updated: Sep 21, 2020
Often I find things while I'm out shopping and I wonder how people incorporate these things in their decor without it being super cringy. Today, I'm going to show you an outside the box way to use those felt pumpkin placemats or whatever they are called that you find at your local discount/dollar store.
Why not use it as a stencil?
Sure, let's try it!
Felt placemat/sign thing from discount store
an old wooden sign, or you could make or buy one I suppose.
Spray paint your base color, I chose black paint.
Allow to dry
Place the felt pumpkin/leave, or placemat of your choice on top of the wood.
You could use sticky glue dots here, but nothing that sticks out the side and you don't want to stick it permanently.
After it's in place, take your other color (for me, it's white) and spray paint over the whole sign
Allow to dry
Remove the stencil/felt placemat thingy and ta-da! you should have a rustic looking decoration for your outdoor decor.
Grab your bales of hay, scarecrows, pumpkins, new wooden sign and you are ready for fall in East Tennesee!
